Trucking Superintendent

Executive & Technical Duties:

•Oversees all product transportation functions through close supervision and management of trucking group’s performance supervisors and by reviewing daily reports, conducting on-road tours of duty, and attending meetings.

•Develops transportation plan by reviewing strategic objectives and translating objectives into daily activities; with input from various related APC sections, such as the Haulage Garage, Loading Section & Aqaba Site.

•Evaluates performance of the department by analyzing the daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

•Will strive to achieve zero (0) Ensures traffic accidents & LTA’s "lost time accident" are minimized by ensuring proper safety awareness of employees by conducting regular safety awareness huddles, identifying & conducting appropriate training needs, developing required procedures and implementing current technology to minimize risk. , Will use the using the GPS "Global positioning system" to track & monitor the fleet 24 hrs. Conducting on-road tours of duty & following up with those that are in violation of safety and traffic rules accordingly.

•Prepares Trucking annual capital, operational and manpower budgets based on review of annual transportation plan and requirements of the Department. Also monitors spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets

•Ensures Trucking Department compliance with quality, environmental, health & safety standards by implementing and enforcing related ISO procedures

•Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.

•Develop criteria, application instructions, and procedural manuals, in coordination with concerned departments, Production, Quality, HR, & Legal.

•Direct and coordinate, through his Supervisors the activities of operations to obtain use & best utilization of human resources, Fleet, equipment’s, & facilities.

•Participate in investigations in cooperation with other concerned Departments to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.

•Ensures all HR issues of department staff & drivers personnel affairs are re addressed to the administration & personnel departments through proper channels, and follow them up.

•Performs other job-related duties as assigned by his Manager.

•Leads safety meetings for the department to ensure directives about safety are communicated to departmental staff

General Administrative Duties:

•Prepares periodic reports with respect to the Trucking Department’s activities and achievements and submits them.

•Recommends training needs of subordinates and evaluates the outcomes of training courses in coordination with Human Resources.

•Follow-up on subordinates administrative affairs such as: vacations, leaves …etc

•Conducts performance appraisals for subordinates according to the scheduled plans and recommends necessary actions as per the adopted procedures.

•Conducts periodic meetings with subordinates to follow up smooth running of activities and keeping abreast with the latest business-related practices.

•University. Degree from a recognized institution in a relevant field and appropriate experience to demonstrate leadership skills

•8 years in a related field, with a track record showing leadership skills & an emphasis on safety.

•Fluent in English & skilled with Computers.
