Mechanical Materials Studies Engineer

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work on mechanical materials requirement planning for plants and manage supply chain, starting from replenishment reports and ending with final acceptance, in addition to the inspection of received materials in stores. The successful candidate will work on maintaining target goals of materials availability to ensure continuity of production lines and availability of plants without interruptions.

Executive & Technical Duties

• Strategic planning for stock levels of mechanical materials based on consumption, forecasted consumption, delivery time, cost, criticality, and shelf life.
• Optimizing inventory cost based on having optimum levels, optimum cost, and optimum specifications.
• Managing variation in lead time demand by making periodic studies to minimize variation either by improving specifications, provide technical support to end users, looking for new sources with improved and reliable supply in terms of delivery time and quality.
• Identifying spare parts for newly installed capital projects.
• Preparing technical specifications based on relevant global standards and issuance of purchase requisitions.
• Evaluating of received offers technically.
• Receipting and inspecting purchased materials in stores.
• Preparing technical specifications for new mechanical capital equipment.
• Preparing technical installation plans for newly purchased capital equipment.
• Capping with safety, environmental and housekeeping aspects.
• Capping with new production evolutions and requirements that need improvement and change in specifications.
• Preparing technical reports for all transactions and activities of the section.
• Performing any duties related to the job as assigned by superintendent.

 Job requirements

• B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical or industrial Engineering.
• At least four (4) years of experience in industrial companies.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Good ability in working at MS project.
• Good understanding of international standards like ASTM, AISI, DIN, ASIC, ..etc.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Excellent read, write, and speak in English.
• Excellent problem-solving skills & ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
• Cooperates, collaborates, and works well towardcommon goals with others.
• The successful candidate should be a non-smoker.
