Job Summary

Arab Potash Company offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale industrial projects within one of Jordan’s leading mining and industrial organizations.

Arab Potash Company is seeking a qualified and results-oriented Planning and Cost Control Engineer to join our project team and support the successful planning, monitoring, and cost control of industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for schedule development, progress tracking, budget monitoring, forecasting, and project performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The Planning and Cost Control Engineer will play a key role in project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance analysis. The position requires a strong understanding of project controls, EPC/EPCM project execution, contract management, and industrial project environments such as mining, oil and gas, and related industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Monitor project progress and track schedule performance against approved baselines.
  • Identify critical paths, schedule constraints, and potential delays, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Continuously assess project risks and their impact on schedule performance.
  • Prepare progress reports and dashboards highlighting project achievements, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Support project management with schedule analysis and recovery plans when required.
  •         Monitor project budgets, expenditures, commitments, and cost performance.
  •          Prepare periodic cost reports detailing actual expenditure versus budgeted amounts.
  •          Identify cost deviations, potential overruns, savings opportunities, and budget variances.
  •          Analyze project expenses and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
  •          Assess the cost impact of scope changes, variation orders, and change requests.
  •          Prepare forecasting reports and cost-to-complete estimates.
  •          Support the preparation of cash-flow forecasts and project cost projections.
  •          Provide management with timely reports on project financial performance and trends

 

 

 

Skills

 

Required Qualifications

  •           Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • (5–8) years of relevant experience in planning, scheduling, and cost control for industrial projects, and the candidate age should ideally be compatible with the required years of experience.
  • Proven experience in EPC and EPCM project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Strong skills in schedule analysis, critical path analysis, and progress measurement.
  • Experience in cost control, earned value management, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in project management.
  • Experience in mining, oil & gas, or similar industrial sectors.
  • Good understanding of FIDIC contract conditions and contract administration principles.
