Job Summary
Senior Marine Engineer with strong experience in maritime and industrial environments, including hydraulic systems and diesel engines. Responsible for ensuring high availability of production equipment to support continuous and uninterrupted plant operations. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment modifications, and performance improvements to ensure all systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in alignment with production targets and operational requirements.
Executive & Technical Duties
- Supervise and conduct major maintenance activities, including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance for marine equipment, while providing technical support to other maintenance sections.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and environmental requirements and confirm that risk assessments are properly utilized.
- Plan and coordinate work efficiently, including collaboration with different departments as needed.
- Provide technical support in the preparation of execution plans.
- Optimize available manpower to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Contribute to the technical evaluation of received offers related to assigned responsibilities.
- Prepare documentation of critical analyses and provide recommendations for correcting errors.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for plant and offsite vital production equipment.
- Analyze and evaluate issues with production equipment to develop effective solutions.
- Maintain commitment to safety regulations, environmental standards, and housekeeping practices.
- Prepare technical reports for major maintenance activities.
- Perform any other duties related to the job as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills
Job requirements:
- B.Sc. Degree in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering, or 2nd Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency, with a GPA of Good or higher, and registered with the Jordanian Engineers Association or the Jordan Maritime Commission.
- 5–8 years of proven experience in reputable marine and industrial firms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Good understanding of international standards such as ASTM, AISI, and ISO.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage personnel on-site effectively.
Education
